West
Loch Shores Woodland Walks
West
Loch Shores is central to all the walking that you may undertake
across Kintyre and Argyll.
Only
minutes away is the village of Tarbert and access to walks
that pass around the glen and also across to Skipness. There
are walks inland all throughout Kintyre and Argyll.
The
forestry commission take an active part in tourism creating
walks through the land that they maintain and through the diverse
forest plantations that they are responsible for planting.
West
Loch Shores Tarbert has access directly to woodland at the
head of the lodge site, and there is access to forestry walks
only minutes in either direction by car.
From
West Loch Shores Brenfield if you head northwards and head
towards Cairnbaan but follow the road a few miles further towards
Oban there is access to walks here, or if you continue a few
more miles there are yet more forestry walks or Kilmartin Glen
and Mhine Mhor.
There
is plenty of woodland teaming with wildlife, with approximately
one third of Kintyre covered in woodland you are always sure
to find something of interest and a suitable walk. |
