14 Days - Day 6 - Kilmartin & Tayvallich

Kilmartin Glen

There are more than 350 ancient monuments within a six-mile radius of the village of Kilmartin, Argyll: 150 of them are prehistoric. This extraordinary concentration and diversity of monuments distinguishes the Kilmartin valley as an area of outstanding archaeological importance.

Kilmartin House is a world-class centre for archaeology and landscape interpretation which combines a Museum of Ancient Culture and a unique and vibrant visitor centre including intense audio-visual experience "The Valley of Ghosts".

Tayvallich

Once you have finished at Kilmartin then a short journey on back roads across the Crinan Canal will bring you to the beautiful fishing village of Tayvallich and beyond along Loch Sween to sample the splendid isolation of the Chapel of the Keill at Keillmore.

At Tayvallich, do not leave without sampling the wondeful food at the Tayvallich Inn, one of the member establishments of the Seafood Trail.
